Common Summer Expenses To Plan For

My summer budget is so much different from my winter budget! There are a variety of reasons for this and so I thought it would be a good time to go over some common summer expenses you may miss. After all, June is only TWO days away!

Common Summer Expenses To Plan For

  • Father’s Day – this may not be a big one for you, but it really depends who and how you celebrate. It can also effect your budget if you host a special dinner!
  • Graduation Open Houses – Whether they are close to you or not, the grads come out of the woodwork in June. Decide on your budget ahead of time and get to signing all those cards!
  • Summer Vacations – This could be a family trip or even the long holiday weekends. Summer encompasses both 4th of July and Labor Day, so plan accordingly.
  • Daycare or Supplemental Care For Your Children – Many of us use our children’t school hours to get things done. If this is the case and your children are not old enough to stay home alone, you may need help. Consider finding someone who can come one afternoon per week to the house. That gives you a set time to run errands, make appointments and catch your sanity!
  • It is WEDDING SEASON – Depending on your age and stage, this could mean a lot or a little dough. If you are in a wedding, this will be a major factor in your budget. Check your fridge for those save the dates and tally it up!
  • Summer Groceries – This won’t change for everyone, but it likely does if you have school age children. While packing lunches is a drag, it can keep things pretty systematic. Summer brings out a lot of “I’mmmmmm hungry” and “I NEED a snackkkkkk”

Keep these common summer expenses in mind and your June Budget should stay right on track!
