July Financial Expenses And Planning

Now that July is here most of us are ready to take advantage of the beautiful weather. There is always a boost in summer related expenses that take us by surprise. Today we will go over some common July financial expenses for you and your family.

July Financial Expenses To Keep In Mind:

  • Swim Lessons: Obviously this only applies if you have children. Some consider swimming lessons necessary and they can add up. If swim lessons don’t apply to you, think about events or activities and things of that nature.
  • Fireworks & Celebration Supplies: This may seem small, but having people over, even casually, can blow your food and/or entertainment budget quite easily. Fireworks aren’t cheap so if you are planning to have a small event with your kids or some neighbors plan to budget accordingly.
  • Summer Camps: If your kids are still of age that they need care and you are not a stay-at-home parent, then summer camp may be a win-win for you. Many people have great memories of summer camp whether that be day camp or sleep away camp. These wonderful experiences can run you the cost of a vacation, so plan this out in advance.
  • Sunscreen & Bug Protection: Neither of these items are cheap and I count on both of them to stay comfortable in the summer. Bug bites and sunburn are a huge bummer and can derail your fun for days. These bottles cost from $5-$15 each…wow!
  • Holiday Savings: Yes, I said it. It seems that the second half of the year from July-December moves faster than the first half of the year. Regardless, you are a few short months away from holiday shopping. Start early or start setting aside some funds!
