Ideas To Stop Spending Money & Accomplish Your Goals

One of the only things standing in the way of my financial freedom is my spending habits. While they have ebbed and flowed over the years, there are still a few areas we could fix to improve our overall cash flow, budgeting and saving. Here are five ideas to stop spending money!

No. 1 – Eat At Home & Pack Your Lunch – Ideas To Stop Spending Money

This is the hardest one for me to do on a regular basis. Seems like a get on a good streak with it and then stop. Eating out is incredibly expensive and even if you make good choices, it likely isn’t as healthy as what you cook at home. Make a point to make dinner at least five nights a week and make sure to make some extra for lunch leftovers!

No. 2 – Shop Around For Cable & Phone Deals

I have been meaning to call my cable company for the past three months! They raised my rate over time and each time I pay it, I haven’t made the immediate time to call and negotiate or ask for a reduction. This is a simple way to cut some money out of your budget with two phone calls!

No. 3 – Order Groceries & Necessities Online – Five Ideas To Stop Spending Money

Out of all of my ideas to stop spending money, this one is the most controversial. I recently started ordering my groceries online and item per item, it IS more expensive. That being said, if organizing and choosing your cart online stops you from impulse buying other items, it is a great idea!

No. 4 – DIY (Do-It-Yourself)

In my case, I only DIY simple things. This may be as simple as cancelling or limiting a cleaning service or cutting your own grass. I also have small tiling project I would like for my kitchen, and I am considering trying it myself!

No. 5 – Budget, Budget, BUDGET!

If you don’t tell your money what to do, it will often tell you! It is easy to overspend or misappropriate when you don’t have things planned well. Download a budget template and start planning today!
