Customer Service Hiring Event

Are you looking for a job in customer service? Plan on attending the Customer Service Hiring Event. It’s on Thursday, May 2 from Noon to 2 p.m. The job fair will take place at the Michigan Works! Livonia Service Center Up to 10 companies will be interviewing job candidates.

Please bring multiple copies of your résumé in addition to professional dress. Some companies in attendance will interview on-the-spot.

Take Pride in Livonia Day – Livonia Activities For May

The Annual Take Pride in Livonia day will take place on Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m.  This special day is designed to spruce up neighborhood parks.

Join us as we continue to improve the quality of life for our residents. Individual groups choose a park and recruit volunteers to clean that park.  We are especially looking to clean up trails through our many nature preserves this year.  Each group will be given trash bags, gloves and encouraged to bring rakes and brooms.  Last year approximately 150 people volunteered to clean nine parks throughout Livonia.

After the clean-up, all volunteers are invited to Ford Field, Farmington at Lyndon, for a picnic.

Stop, Drop and Bowl for the Livonia Firefighters Charity Fund

Come support your Livonia Firefighters Charity Fund for an afternoon of bowling and fun! Stop, Drop and Bowl takes place on Saturday, May 11 at 4 p.m. at Merri-Bowl Lanes, 30950 Five Mile Road. Proceeds from this event help your Livonia Fire & Rescue provide for local charities! The cost is $20 per person for 3 games, shoes, pizza and pop as well as a raffle ticket for a door prize. For $30 per person, you will receive a Livonia Fire Department t-shirt as well!! 50/50 and other raffle prizes. Family friendly and all ages welcome! 5 bowlers per lane. Need a new read? Looking to add to your book collection? Check out the Friends of the Library Used Book Sale. The sale will take place on Friday, May 17, Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at the Robert and Janet Bennett Civic Center Library, 32777 Five Mile Road. Book sale hours are Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. Browse through thousands of books, CDs, videos and collectibles. You never know what you will find!
