Choosing A Cause For Your Small Business

Everyone loves to have a cause in 2017. This is a great thing for your small business! A cause brings people together, focuses your team and spreads love into the world. Doesn’t everyone want to spread a little love? Choosing your cause doesn’t have to be difficult.

Choosing A Cause For Your Small Business

Today I will explore three ways you can choose a cause for your small business. This may be a cause you support personally or with money from your company. Or, this may just be a cause you focus on supporting together.

Tip #1 – Collaborate With Your Team

Whenever possible, we recommend asking your team for suggestions. In most cases, people really do care about where they are working and they want to feel great about where they invest their time. A cause that is near and dear to them can encourage even more involvement in your culture and can increase their satisfaction at work.

Tip #2 – Allows Your Clients or Guests To Choose

Nothing makes someone feel more important than having a shared vision. You could put a suggestion box or reach out to some key clients or guests and find out what is most important to them. People are willing to spend more money and engage in more services with a company who shares their values. And…that’s a fact!

Tip #3 – Pick Something That Aligns With Your Mission

Sometimes, you know best. Here is an opportunity to demonstrate how your company’s values or mission statement lines up with your actions. You could choose a cause or charity near and dear to your heart, your family’s heart or just one that speaks to you. Choose something that you feel adds value and character to your business.

In our next blog we will discuss the way you can incorporate this charity into your operations. How can you actually raise money for them? How do you keep your team involved? Stay tuned…
