Employee Events For Your Small Business

Running a small business isn’t always easy, but there are many thing you can do to increase camaraderie. Some of these employee events are intended to build your team and others could be just for fun. Sometimes employees aren’t looking for the best pay or the most benefits. Some team members are just looking for a great culture where they make friends, share a vision, know what to expect and feel like they belong! Team building events can go a long way in those departments.

Employee Events For Your Small Business That Won’t Break The Bank

Some ideas to try:

  • Bowling – Anyone can do it and it is relatively inexpensive
  • Pic-Luck – A picnic/potluck where everyone brings something and you spend some time sharing about your week
  • Mini Golf or Batting Cages – There is something for everyone
  • Pizza or  Pub Outing – Everyone loves pizza
  • Obstacle Course – Spend some time in the great outdoors cheering each other on
  • Panic Room – Mystery spots are popping up all over the place…work together to solve a riddle or crack the code
  • Movie Night – Have everyone over to someone’s home or you can spring for movie tickets

What Counts When You Choose Employee Events

  1. Choose a time when most or all can attend
  2. Make sure everyone can take part in the chosen activity
  3. If you aren’t paying for everything involved, make sure to choose something affordable for everyone
  4. Give everyone enough notice…at least a month to six weeks
  5. Encourage a lively and positive work culture to promote events outside of work
  6. One or two times per year invite significant others or families to share the love and joy in your company

There are SO many things to do in a day as a small business owner. Team member events can seem like just another thing and one that isn’t even necessary. However, truth be told, team building and a positive company structure are number ONE! Everyone works harder when they are happy and fulfilled!
