March Activities 2019 in Livonia, Michigan

Spring is almost here and there are many March activities to look forward to this month! We have a few suggestions for you if you want to try yoga or enjoy an art exhibit. Livonia is a wonderful community and we love being a part of it!

 

Art Exhibit Reception & Show – March Activities

Event date: 3/7/2019 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Don’t miss an opportunity to see local artist JS Aitken’s stunning stained glass style oil paintings on display in the Fine Arts Gallery at the Livonia Civic Center Library. This color drenched exhibit Fusion of Light & Color: A Stained Glass Inspiration will be open to the public the month of March 2019. The artist reception is Thursday, March 7th from 6:30-7:30pm.

 

Seedlings’ 32nd Annual Bowling for Braille Books

Event date: 3/9/2019 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Help raise $60,000 for 6,000 braille books for blind children! Join us for the Seedlings’ 32nd Annual Bowling for Braille Books on Saturday, March 9 at noon. The event will take place at Novi Bowl, 21700 Novi Road in Novi.

Bowling for Braille Books is Seedlings’ is our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Join Celebrity Bowler Dave Rexroth, WXYZ TV Channel 7 Chief Meteorologist

Please register by March 1! The pledge minimum is only $65.

Bowlers pledge includes bowling and shoe rental, pizza and pop, t-shirt, a raffle ticket for a chance to win a great prize and a goody bag with freebies!

Seedlings’ 32nd Annual Bowling for Braille Books is presented by AlphaUSA, Bill Brown Ford, Cancilliari Construction, Community Financial Credit Union, Financial & Portfolio Advisors, Ltd.; Kennedy Industries; Livonia Builders; Masco; Plymouth Lions and Valassis.

 

Yoga Basics

 Yoga Basics Workout – This class will emphasize classical yoga posture.  The participant moves at his/her own pace to develop focus, strength and flexibility.  All levels of fitness are welcome, including beginners.  A mat will be provided or you may bring your own. Event date: 3/13/2019 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM

 

 

“Michigan Shadowtowns Revisited” presented by the Livonia Historical Society

Gene Scott of the Livonia Historical Society will present his program “Michigan Shadowtowns Revisited” at the Livonia Historical Society meeting on Monday, Mar. 18 from 2 – 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend! The event will take place at the Alexander Blue House at Greenmead Historical Park, 20501 Newburgh Road. Membership information will be available at the meeting.

 

FREE Fridays at the Rec – March Activities

FREE Fridays at the Rec – 5 a.m. – 11 p.m. – Take advantageof open swim, open basketball courts, fitness hub workouts, tree fort use, open wall use, indoor track use, etc.  Every Friday during the Healthy Livonia’s 100 Days to Health! Must be enrolled in the Healthy Livonia’s 100 Days to Health program.
