Michigan Vacation Spots To Visit

I LOVE Michigan! There are so many amazing Michigan vacation spots to enjoy. Avoid the planes and trains that take you to far away places. You can completely skip the long road trip and days of travel and think #pureMichigan. In just 20 mins or 4 hours you can enjoy everything summer has to offer. There are so many places in Michigan to write about…Mackinac Island, Traverse City, South Haven and the list goes on. Today we are going to discuss three spots we love. These also range in affordability. You can spend a lot or a little and still have a great time!

Boyne Mountain – Michigan Vacation Spots

I know this spot SCREAMS winter, hot chocolate, skiing and snowboarding, but it can be wonderful in summer too! The air still has that “up north” clean quality to it. There are still many shops open and an indoor water park. You can even take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain and grab a bite. Although the views don’t boast snowy slopes, they do boast all sorts of Michigan goodness! Zip lining down the mountain is also available in the off season. Dust off your sense of adventure and head up to Boyne. Accommodations are much more affordable in the off season. Don’t forget to check out VRBO.com or airbnb.com for some great deals on condos, cabins and homes not used in the off season.

Lake Michigan, Grand Haven or Muskegon – Michigan Vacation Spots

Paradise that is less than 3 hours away? Yes, please! Once you are on the beach in Grand Haven, Holland, Muskegon or Ludington you can imagine you are right on the coast. Silky sand at your feet, crashing waves and you can’t see the other side. These locations have an-ocean like atmosphere and most have piers, ice cream shops and Grand Haven even boasts a large boardwalk with awesome views of the boats coming in and out. With State Parks available for camping, you can’t get a more affordable summer vacation!

Henry Ford Village, Detroit Metro – Michigan Vacation Spots

Maybe we should label this a stay-cation! Not only do we count Henry Ford Village in Dearborn as a great one day get-away…there are many more events to choose from. Check your local calendars for many art events and festivals in Plymouth, Ann Arbor and Detroit. Instead of a week-long vacation, you can plan some day trips to explore your own area. Some examples include The Detroit Zoo, the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts Museum) or go to Comerica Park and take in a Detroit Tigers baseball game! There is so much to do in our own “backyard”!

We love Michigan!
