First, whether you love technology or hate it, you have to admit we are all obsessed with our phones! Even those of us that aren’t obsessed, should admit we spend a LOT of time on it. Today we start a series on saving money with your smartphone. There is one EASY place to start…SHOPPING!

We may not all like to shop for everything. For instance, we may enjoy grocery shopping, but not car shopping. We may like shopping for clothes, but the hardware store doesn’t do it for us. However, all of us have something we like to shop for. And there is great news! Your smartphone can help you save cold, hard CASH.

Store Apps – Saving Money With Your Smartphone

Almost every store or brand has their own app for your smartphone. I like to keep all of my shopping apps organized in one folder. These apps take little storage on your phone and offer big benefits. They often have coupons that can be scanned right from your phone and current advertisements. Some of them also boast shopping lists and aid in returns (which is awesome…see ya receipts!)

Coupon Apps – Saving Money With Your Smartphone

There are even some apps out there that aren’t associated with a single brand. This includes apps like Ibotta and TheCouponsApp. These apps can be used for weekly ads and even cashback. You have nothing to lose from this simple download. Pretty amazing, huh?

In closing, there are several functions on your smartphone that can help you shop. One of my favorite things to do when I am out looking for new items is to take pictures of labels or tags. This can be especially helpful when shopping for big items such as furniture or appliances. You can snap a quick pic and have the price and measurements right at your finger tips for future use.

The second general function I like to use is my Notes app. Here I can jot down lists and reminders. No paper, pens or binders needed! Last, but not least, there is nothing like having the internet right at your fingertips when you are shopping! You can check deals other places, look at reviews and research what you are buying.
