Date Nights…10 Ideas That Will Fit Your Budget

Date nights are the best nights! At least to me. It is a treat you give yourself. I love all the dates…movies, dinners, outings, shopping, hiking and more. Unfortunately, date nights can really add up! It is fine to splurge every  once in a while, but it is important to budget for. I have found that it is good for me and my husband to have a slew of date night ideas that won’t break the bank ready to go!

Five FREE Date Nights

  1. One of my favorite free date nights is going to a book store. Yes, like a real book store haha. If your town has a local one, that’s a really great option. However, there is still a Barnes & Noble in Northville that I love to visit!
  2. Volunteering at a food bank or a mission of some sort. There are often several deserving organizations that need help and it is wonderful way to work together for a good cause.
  3. Stay in and take turns playing songs that meant something to you in the past or that you remember as part of growing up. Pour some wine or make some fancy decaf coffee or teas to spruce up the occasion!
  4. Look forward to a home project and spend the night window shopping for ideas and making plans for when the time is right.
  5. Watching a movie on television at home. There are often classics on that you may not even remember you like!

Five Low-Budget Date Nights

  1. Go to an apple orchard, or another seasonally appropriate outdoor festivity. You don’t have to buy a lot, but you could enjoy some apple cider and pick out a pumpkin for less than $20.
  2. Pack a picnic and head to a scenic area. Some simple sandwiched or wine, fruit and cheese doesn’t need to cost much. But the effort and the ambiance of the experience and setting will be worth it!
  3. Go to a museum together and experience learning and seeing new things together. Many museums and galleries have special nights or events and it doesn’t have to cost a lot to see something awesome!
  4. Try out new coffee shops. In addition, you can find a new shop and agree to try something you haven’t had before. These are also great no-electronics zones and you could even pick up a puzzle book or something to do together.
  5. Train for a 5k together or try a new fitness class. A 5k will cost you something but you can have all kinds of “free” dates leading up to it!
