Holiday Activities in December For Livonia, Michigan – 2017
November has flown right by, and we are embarking on the December holiday season! We now have full permission to go all out with decorations, shopping, cooking baking, family traditions more! Here are some activities happening in Livonia, Michigan this December!
Livonia Christmas Walk
Friends of Greenmead
Join the Friends of Greenmead for the 29th Annual Christmas Walk on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Come tour five privately owned home decorated for the holidays including the Simmons-Hill House at Greenmead, decorated by local Quester groups. The Hinburn gift shop will be open and attendees will receive a gift and a discount. All proceeds benefit Greenmead. Maps are available on the day of event only at the Simmons-Hill House at Greenmead and Robert and Janet Bennett Civic Center Library.
Tickets are $9.00 in advance, $10.00 day of the event. They are on sale now at the following locations:

Merry & Bright: Livonia’s Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting
Merry & Bright: Livonia’s Holiday Parade will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. The parade will begin at Frost Middle School, continue north on Stark, east on Lyndon, north on Farmington, and east on Civic Center Drive ending in front of City Hall.
Once at City Hall, Mayor Wright will be joined by Santa for the tree lighting festivities. Afterward, youngsters are invited to visit Santa at the Robert and Janet Bennett Civic Center Library where they can also enjoy crafts, entertainment and refreshments.
Parking is available at Ford Field, Stymelski Park, and at the Senior Center.

Lunch with Santa
Join us for a Livonia holiday tradition. The annual Lunch with Santa will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Civic Park Senior Center, 15218 Farmington Rd. The event includes lunch, crafts and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Tickets are $6 for Livonia residents and $9 for non-residents. They may be purchased at the Kirksey Community Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard or online at Livonia Parks and Rec. All attendees over the age of 2 must have a ticket.

Santa’s Workshop Calling
Santa and his elves will make special calls to children (any elementary aged child who still believes) on Monday, December 18 and Tuesday, December 19. Download your request form and deliver to the Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard. You can also email the form to parks@ci.livonia.mi.us or fax to (734) 466-2929.
