Fun Spring Break Activities That Don’t Break The Bank – Part 1

There are so many fun spring break activities for your family that won’t kill your budget! While many people choose to go on vacation, my family loves a good stay-cation. If I have the opportunity to spend more time with family this week, I want to make the most of it! I started brainstorming things we could do that don’t cost a lot of money. I came up with so many ideas, I decided to write two posts!

Enjoy The Beach – Fun Spring Break Activities

The beach isn’t just for the summer! I will admit, I enjoy it more when it is 80 and sunny, but you can have a fun time at the beach in sweatshirts too. The view is still great, you can still play in the sand and the pier is still fun to walk down. I recommend a day trip to Holland or Saugatuck if you live in Southeastern Michigan.

Art Projects & Experiments – Spring Break Activities

Pinterest anyone? There are SO MANY projects above and beyond painting or coloring. A few little searches could lead you down a rabbit trail to an entire afternoon of fun! Between slime, fun experiments and creating cool stuff , you can have a lot of fun on a simple budget. My favorite choice for a project is creating something that is useful. Depending on age, jewelry, coasters or even garden stones can be a fun idea that last longer than hanging something on the fridge!

Scavenger Hunt – Spring Break Activities

You can choose to make this as simple or complex as you want. It can be as easy as making a list of items to spot or collect and visiting your local park. If you have older children or want to dive deeper, you definitely can! The internet is chock full of scavenger hunts you can do at a local mall or throughout a city. A lot of these are photo or video scavenger hunts. I have had a great time each time I have done one of these!
