Simple Ways To Save Your Family Money – Part 2

I chose to write two posts because there are so many simple ways to save money for your family this new year! I could actually talk about this topic forever. Sometimes I feel that my friends and I do! We are always sharing deals, coupons and new ideas to live our best lives. This means we share workout classes we love, great recipes and all the hacks we can come up with.

Five MORE Simple Ways To Save Your Family Money

  1. Simplify Your Entertainment: Lots of people in my extended family have ditched cable completely. We are not quite there yet. However, we have simplified our package way down and use Netflix for movies and other entertainment. The other thing that falls into this category is pairing down other entertainment such as not paying for unnecessary apps on our phones and going to matinees at the movie theater instead of going to movies at night.
  2. Cook More: I got my year end spending summary from my bank and I am a little embarrassed how much we spent eating out at restaurants. One of my BIG financial resolutions this year is to cook more at home. That also means I have total control over what I eat which will also help me with my nutritional goals. Packing my lunch the night before has worked great for me these first few weeks of 2018.
  3. Learn New Skills: I would always rather call someone when I need a repair or a job done right. If it were up to me, every job would ALWAYS  be left up to the experts. However, we have recently embarked on some of our own do-it-yourself repairs and projects with pretty good results. We are going to continue to learn new skills this year and save a little of our cash in the process!
  4. Utilize Resale Sites: I have been shocked how many used things in my home I have been able to resell. I find that people are open to paying for our gently used items as long as they have some life left in them. Let go of the idea of recouping a certain price and you are sure to be an attractive seller!
  5. Go Outdoors: This one is personal to me. The more time I spend out in nature…whether it be exercising, working in my yard or just enjoying the sunshine, the less money I spend. Being in tune with nature entertains me and inspires me to live my best life. For me, that is a life with less!
