Warning Signs You Have The Wrong Real Estate Agent
Buying and/or selling a home can be such an exciting time for you and your family. Hopefully you have the guidance of a wonderful and helpful real estate agent. Maybe you have used them before or someone you trust had a great experience with them. The best case scenario is that your experience has been flawless and you feel completely supported in your buying or selling journey. However, it is possible that your experience is less than stellar. Not sure what to think about the service you are receiving? Let’s talk some warning signs to watch out for.
Warning Signs You Have The Wrong Real Estate Agent
- They Don’t Tend To Your Showing Needs: If you are buying this means not being available to show you homes on your schedule. If they refuse to accommodate your schedule or act like you are inconvenience, it could be a problem for you. If you are selling, this likely means not being attentive to setting up showings or refusing to feature your home or hold open houses.
- Gaps In Communication: It could be a problem if you are ALWAYS the one reaching out or if the agent doesn’t respond to your communication. Good real estate agents can legitimately be very busy. That being said…either them or someone on their team should be able to respond to you within a business day.
- Not Able To Answer Your Questions: It is okay if your agent doesn’t have all of the answers. However, it is a warning sign if they can’t answer most of your questions. It is one thing if they just need to “check into something” before answering. BUT, if they can never give you straight answer it shows that they may lack knowledge.
- Belittling Your Opinions or Feelings: There is nothing professional about making another person and/or a client feel stupid. Part of a real estate professional’s job is to empower you to make your own decisions. Educating you can be part of the process, but it should be done in the spirit of helpfulness and not in an attempt to steamroll you or make you feel inferior.
